After clerking for Superior Court Judge Marguerite T. Simon, J.S.C. in 1993, Carla was an attorney with Bergen County Juvenile Justice Pool and spent two years with the Hudson County Public Defender’s Office as a Juvenile Pool Attorney. As an associate attorney with reputable Bergen County law firms, Carla developed extensive court experience in domestic violence trials, motions to modify child support, complex divorce negotiations, companion animal litigation, municipal court, and legal documentation preparation.

Carla was appointed the Public Defender in Bogota, New Jersey in 2008 where she currently serves. She joined the law offices of Gina A. Calogero, of counsel, in 2007.

Carla is a member of Women Lawyers in Bergen and the NJ State Bar Association.

She was a law instructor with the Gifted Child Society, Inc. from 1991 to 1997, a religious education instructor with Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Franklin Lakes-NJ from 2002 to present, and has been a Member of the Board of Directors of Appropriate Living for the Autistic from 1995 to present.

Carla has been a volunteer with the Alternatives to Domestic Violence Advocacy Project since 1994.
